Stormwater Management and Swales by Ben Falk

By on December 5, 2014

In this video by Ben Falk, he discusses stormwater management and uses the floodwater from Hurricane Irene as an example.  Ben talks about how you can reduce flooding by holding water where it is most beneficial – on the hillside, infiltrating stormwater before it reaches the valley bottom.  He explains that by slowing, spreading, and sinking stormwater via swales, it helps to rapidly build topsoil, retain nutrients, and grow animals and tree/berry crops.
