Permaculture Forest Garden – A Visit to Britain’s Oldest

Graham Bell, author of ‘The Permaculture Way” calls Scotland’s Garden Cottage home, At only 1/5 of an acre it is Britain’s oldest permaculture garden. Using organic permaculture practices the garden produces over a metric ton of food and hosts 35 species of nesting birds. Starting at the kitchen door and working outwards the flat empty field was transformed into vegetable production, forest gardens and wildlife habitat with permaculture practices such as composting, mulching and planting which built the fertility of the land.
